Founder and Managing Director Graeme Webster has had extensive experiense in the Design Sales and Project Management of large scale Refridgeration, Airconditioning and Computer Room Facilities in both New Zealand and Australia
His intermate knoledge and experience the control of temerature, humidity, airflow and dewpoint moisture lead him to recognise early on the causes of problems of rot and mold in houses before the advent of cavities in NZ.
It was obvious to him the wall needed to breath, so he set about designing a solution in the form of a cavity batten. The design breif was to find the ultimate material and the ultimate configuration. The material had to be plastic because it needed to be a moisture barrier between the framing and cladding. The configuration had to have holes in it for drainage and ventilation.
Looking at what existing product would satisfy those requirements, core flute had those properties but was too small. It needed to be 18mm, so he scourd the world to find a machine that had the capability to produce 18mm to his design.
The batten is now on its third generation of evolution and Webster says its now at its ultimate form for application, strength and durability, to protecting the integrity of residential and commercial buildings.
